Our Story

Hi, I'm Matthew Boccaccio, owner & creator of Republic of Fitness

I joined the fitness industry after years of living with unhealthy habits. I was determined to develop a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental environment to train, become healthy, be surrounded by support and have fun.


Every member of my team know what it's like to not feel comfortable in a training environment and struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle. When I opened Republic of Fitness, my goal was simple - to build an environment in which people who wanted to make that change could do so in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space.

Our system works because myself and each member of the team know what it is like to be on the other side of the fence, not feeling comfortable or being able to stick to any healthy lifestyle regime. I was and am passionate about wanting to grow a community of people, wanting change and willing to take the steps to do so (with a little bit of support along the way)

Large Group Training

Our large group coaching sessions are led by an expert coaching team and incorporating, cardio, strength and mobility routines. These dynamic workouts offer you a high energy based session in a fun, empowering and motivating environment. Classes are suitable for all abilities, from beginner to pro and modifications can be made when needed.

Semi Private Training

Semi private training gives you high quality personal coaching in a small group environment. It is a more affordable version of personal training. Your workouts teach effective, proper form and technique.  Your workouts will be pre-planned.  They are measurable and are a fantastic way to reach your personal fitness & strength goals, while working out with like-minded people.

Our 1:1 coaching sessions are designed specifically for your goals and needs, adapting and changing as you progress and get stronger. It's a supportive environment.  Your goals will be continuously looked at and reviewed.  Progress is measured and step by step you will be educated on how to build a healthier lifestyle.

Open Gym

A large fully equipped gym space with flexible access hours so that you can fit your workout in around your busy schedule. Kitted out with a large supply of resistance equipment, free weights & cardio machines. The team is always available to offer you advice and encouragement as you work towards reaching your goals.

Training Programmes / App

Our coaches will work with you to build a training programme to ensure you hit your goals in the most effective way.  Our coaching app will guide you through your workouts and give you accountability to keep you on your toes and ensure you are doing what you said you would!

Nutrition Coaching

Cleaning up your eating habits can help improve your body composition, energy and sleep. Our nutrition coaches can advise you on the best choices to make when it comes to food and drink. You will be given easy options to help you change from bad to great eating habits. If you are looking for long-term changes, rather than short term quick fixes, then our nutrition coaching is for you!

Fit3D Body Scanning

The Fit3D Scanner will take a 360° body scan and give you accurate measurements as well as posture analysis, body composition, body shape scoring and weight. Your scan will create a 3D avatar to help you visually track your progress from any device. You will be able to compare your baseline scan to any future scan so you can easily monitor, track and see the progress you're making toward your fitness goals!

MyZone Fitness Trackers

We use Myzone fitness tech here at Republic of Fitness – a fitness tracker pod and app to motivate you to move and achieve your goals inside and outside of the gym! Myzone is small and lightweight and measures your heart rate, calorie burn per workout, duration of your workout and your overall effort. It uses a points system called ‘meps’ so you can see just how hard you are working and monitor your progression as you work to reach and maintain your health and fitness goals.
